This course is a “prep” course for the IBA Certified Business Appraiser Designation. This course is designed and intended to assist applicants who have met the other requirements for the designation in focusing their study and preparation efforts on issues tested on the comprehensive written examination. The course consists of lecture on the types of questions applicants can be expected to see on the written examination, and presents examples of questions applicants must be able to answer. The course materials include a listing and discussion of all topics covered on the written examination, and a list of reading materials for which students will be responsible. During the course, individual questions are discussed, and students are given the opportunity to check their knowledge on BV topics covered on the written examination. On the second day of the course, students are invited to participate in a practice examination, including the case review section. Following the administration of the practice examination, students have the opportunity to review questions they found difficult with the instructor. The instructor will provide feedback to students to guide their study and preparation for the examination.
Participants in this course will learn what is expected of them on the CBA written examination, and accomplish the understanding of the nature and extent of knowledge required for passing the CBA written examination. Participants will also accomplish the completion of a practice CBA written examination, and have the opportunity to discuss troublesome questions with the instructor.

Who Should Attend
The course is designed for appraisers who have a desire to review the requirements for the CBA exam or those who want to improve their critical thinking skills through the integration of a variety of terms, exams, and a case study. Strongly recommended for CBA applicants.
Participants should have at or near the level of knowledge necessary to pass the CBA written course, or be prepared to undertake substantial further study as guided by the course materials.
The only prerequisite is the desire to prepare for the CBA written exam.
