Focus:         The Forensics Workshop for Financial Professionals is a three-day intensive program in forensic skills in which participants will develop the communication, presentation, and strategic litigation skills to enable them to effectively present their work in the boardroom and in the courtroom. The workshop* will enable specialty track candidates (who have attended the Matrimonial Litigation Support Workshop, Fraud Prevention and Detection Training Center, Economic Damages Workshop, or Forensic Accounting Academy, or plan to attend the Matrimonial Litigation Support Workshop, Business Fraud—Deterrence, Detection, and Investigation Training Center, Business and Intellectual Property Damages Workshop, or the Forensic Accounting Academy) to meet the forensics educational requirement for the Certified Forensic Financial Analyst (CFFA) credential.

What You Will Learn
Topics addressed include an overview of the legal environment of forensics, strategy, report writing, and communication skills in the courtroom and the boardroom. Participants will learn the art of effective communication and presentation of their analysis and conclusions in both legal and corporate settings. Attendees with a litigation focus will learn how to effectively present and defend their qualifications, analysis, and opinions in the courtroom. Attendees with a focus upon the corporate environment will learn how to apply the most effective presentation approaches.

              

Daily Schedule Day 1

Day 1—Legal Theory and Case Law

• Legal theories underlying various types of business damages

• Key statutes and case law that define the scope of damages

• Parameters of damages measurement

• Federal Rules of Evidence and report preparation under Federal Rule

• Introduction of a case study to be used during the remainder of training
