Fort Lauderdale, FL—May 27, 2009—The Institute of Business Appraisers (IBA), the pioneer of business appraisal education, professional certification, and resources, today announced that Ronald Harbison of Cass, Levy & Leone, based in Florida, has been elected as a member of IBA’s Accreditation Board, which overseas the accreditation process and proposes enhancements or changes to the accreditation process.
The Accreditation Board is responsible for overseeing the development of business valuation examination questions, scoring and grading procedures, CPE and recertification requirements, and reporting procedures. The Board also oversees IBA’s five accreditations and the proposal of future accreditations. In addition, the Board will work closely with IBA’s Headquarters to insure that procedures are properly administered and appropriate quality assurance measures are in place. IBA is very pleased that Mr. Harbison has offered his strong commitment to help ensure that IBA continues to effectively communicate and administer its accreditation policy by serving on this very important Board.
Ronald Harbison is a CPA that holds the Accredited in Business Appraisal Reviewer (ABAR) creditial by the Institute of Business Appraisers and two additional business valuation certifications and a financial forensic designation. Mr. Harbison brings over 30 years of experience in all phases of public accounting and business administration to the association’s leadership position. He has worked as a director for a valuation and litigation consulting group, as well as for the Internal Revenue Service as an Agent.
IBA’s elections were held in May of 2009. The Accreditation Board nominations are open to the entire membership. Each elected member serves voluntarily and commits to uphold the Board’s charter, participate in Board meetings and attend IBA’s Annual Conference.
The Institute of Business Appraisers was the first organization to adopt business appraisal standards and ethics. Established in 1978, the Institute was the original pioneer in business appraisal education and professional accreditation.
