The Accredited in Business Appraisal Review (ABAR) is a unique credential designed to provide a level of quality assurance to stakeholders in the business appraisal process.
"Business Appraisal Review Accreditation Workshop" (formerly 1044) teaches an innovative appraisal review and quality assurance procedure. This will be of interest in situations where assuring the quality of a valuation opinion is an essential element of a transaction, such as:
-Financial reporting,
-Fairness opinions,
-Tax matters involving income tax, gift and estate tax filings, and related regulatory audits,
-Litigation support services,
-Court proceedings,
-Arbitration,
-Mediation,
-Mergers and Acquisitions,
-Any other situation where an independent opinion regarding the credibility of the work product of a business appraiser would be useful to third parties.

Instructors
Business Appraisal Review Accreditation Workshop is taught by Frank Rosillo, ABAR, CBA, CPA/ABV, CFE, BVAL, CVA, and Howard A. Lewis, ABAR, AVA. Howard is the Executive Director of the IBA and the former National Program Manager of the Engineering and Valuation Programs at the Internal Revenue Service.

Requirements
Applicants must be OR BECOME IBA members in good standing, and provide two professional and two personal references.
Applicants must possess a 4-year university degree or equivalent.
Applicants must hold a business appraisal designation awarded by IBA, AICPA, ASA, CICBV or NACVA or must have passed the CBA exam or hold a CFA or CFFA designation, or, receive a waiver from the IBA Executive Director, upon written application providing evidence of significant achievement in business appraisal practice.
Applicants must successfully complete IBA Course 1044 – BUSINESS APPRAISAL REVIEW ACCREDITATION WORKSHOP, and achieve a passing grade on a comprehensive examination developed to test mastery of appraisal concepts and knowledge of report review rubrics.
Applicants must submit an appraisal review, which will be peer reviewed to determine if the review meets professional standards of competence. A detailed OUTLINE, PROVIDED IN CLASS, will set forth the competencies which the applicant must demonstrate.

 

THE EXAMINATION AND APPRAISAL REVIEW ARE WRITTEN DURING CLASS.
