HAND-CRAFTED, HANDS-ON EDUCATION FOR THE REST OF YOUR PROFESSIONAL LIFE

We believe in gathering in small groups to share knowledge and practice skills.  That’s why we limit class sizes.  What you learn is so important to us, we’ll keep working with you for the rest of your career. “Share the Wealth” isn’t our motto. It’s our creed.

8002: Essentials of Business Appraisal (Intermediate; 64 hrs CPE)
A hands-on workshop applying each step appraisal process.  Company financials are provided to the students who adjust the income, perform a forecast and apply the asset, income and market approaches.

IBA instructors recognize the different backgrounds of students in the class.  The course is designed for participants with financial, brokerage and consulting backgrounds to master the appraisal process.

Offered in two sessions of four days each, the course provides pre-reading to even the knowledge base; students complete complex assignments between sessions.

  • Correct application of discounts and premia
  • Calculating long-term growth
  • Support discount and cap rates
  • Selecting appropriate methods
  • Reconciling values

Class size limited to 30 registrants.
Path to the AIBA credential.

EXPERT WITNESS TRAINING USING YOUR APPRAISAL WORK PRODUCT

7001: Expert Testimony Excellence (Advanced; 56 hrs CPE) Outward bound for expert witnesses, with a 6:1 student/instructor ratio and maximum practice time for the skills litigation support experts need:

  • Preparing counsel memos
  • Deposition testimony
  • Direct testimony
  • Cross-examination

Participants bring their own appraisal report for the basis of their testimony work. You’ll review the report of another student and prep counsel on areas of inquiry.

Give a deposition and learn why “answering only the question asked” can be bad advice. Learn how to deal with cross examination in a way which builds your credibility and do the right thing.

Team-taught by a veteran business appraiser with a law degree and a lawyer with business appraisal knowledge, we’ll push your limits in a safe environment; refine your skills; and give you the power to control your opinion, maintain your credibility, stand for your principles, and help the Court do justice.

Class size limited to 12.Path to the BVAL credential.

Expert Testimony Excellence
is open to business appraisers of all experience levels . If you’re doing litigation support work, we want to help you walk the high road.

A COMPREHENSIVE REPORT WRITING BOOT CAMP FOR ALL EXPERIENCES LEVELS

1053: Every Appraisal/Best Appraisal (Intermediate; 40 hrs CPE)

Every report deserves the best you’ve got. Join us to tear apart the process and rebuild your template; consider old issues in new ways; and get ready for the controversies impacting business appraisal today.

Bring your reports; bring your models; bring your questions and your challenges. We’re ready & waiting.

Using real-life examples, you will:

  • Define the assignment
  • Set the budget
  • Analyze the industry
  • Gather the documents
  • Interview management
  • Make adjustments
  • Apply the market approach
  • Analyze goodwill
  • Reconcile the values
  • Present the conclusion

If writing a business appraisal report was easy, anyone could do it. We’ll prove that you can.

Plan to work nights; share your thoughts with workgroups for each step of the process; form relationships which can make you a mentor, an experienced supervisor, and an appraiser who can produce hand-crafted work on the highest levels.

Class size limited to 30 registrants.
